Welcome to the beginning of LoveRally!

Sometimes I look at the world and think we’re in big trouble here.  What has happened to humanity?  On the flip side I see others doing so much good in the world.  I think we just need more people to do more good.  Sure we have our Bill Gates, Angelina Jolie’s, and Oprah’s in the world… all doing extraordinary work to help so many!

What about the rest of us?  What about the regular folks who don’t have all the money in the world… or all the spare time to pick up and go on a mission to a foreign country?  I know who you are!  We are the same!  We’re the moms and dads of the world who put off buying ourselves a new pair of shoes because our kids need them instead.  We’re the college students who struggle to buy books.  We are the people who work three jobs just to break even.  We are the people who drive past a mansion and rather than envy it… we wonder how much the gas bill is! 

We are the regular people!  What can we do to make an impact on the world?  Well… we all have something in us that we came into the world with… it’s free… and when you give some of it away… it is automatically replenished in the body.  That something is love.  We may not have anything else in life to spare, but surely we’ve all got some lovin’ and compassion to give!  That, in and of itself makes us extraordinary people!

Most of us do little things now and then, to help others.  We might give our old clothes to charity, or throw a few nickles in the red kettle during the holidays.  LoveRally is about doing more of these little things on a regular basis.  LoveRally is for “regular people” like us to make a positive impact on the world.  It’s about a bunch of individuals coming together for a common cause and rallying behind someone who needs a boost in life.  It’s about hearing someone’s story and supporting them with positive thoughts by sending them cards and letters.  Imagine someone going through something difficult receiving a few thousand letters of encouragement from people they don’t know.

My years spent blogging at my zen blog have taught me that positive thoughts and actions attract positive thoughts and actions.  I’m sure you know that when you are around positive people… you feel better.  Your mind works differently when you are in positive surroundings.  I truly believe that if the human race just put more positive out there, things would be a lot better.   When you practice kindness and compassion, you not only make the recipient feel great, but it also stirs something inside of you.

I’ve had the concept of LoveRally swirling around in my head for years now.  I’ve checked out a couple of other groups that are based on the same premise, but anyone that knows me in real life knows I have some crazy, inborn need to jump full steam into creating something new.  I wear many hats and take on many projects.  I’m getting ready to send two of my kids off to college, our family window cleaning business is in it’s busiest time of the year, and I’m getting ready to finalize my second book which I do not even have titled yet.  In the midst of it all, here I sit at 5:30am taking another plunge.
