So some of you might have been wondering where I’ve been lately – it’s been a couple months since I posted here. Truth be told I was wondering whether or not to keep LoveRally going. I was wondering if it was making any type of impact at all. As I contemplated the fate of this page, an answer came in the form of a short, handwritten letter from the granddaughter of LoveRally’s October 2011 Mission – 114 year old Delma Kollar:

So with this I had my answer. LoveRally will remain. I think it’s very ironic that this letter came within days of shutting down this site. One who we have helped, has now helped us. I think that is just incredibly wonderful!
With that said, I think for the rest of April, our LoveRally Mission should be to remember those that have made an impact on your own life. Send them a card, or a letter, or even make a phone call. If it’s someone on the web, leave them a nice comment. Just let someone know that they are appreciated. Who knows – maybe that person is contemplating something of their own and YOU might be the one to shed some light on their decision!
And I’ll see you all in a few weeks for our May rally!
Sincerely,
Sheila Burke
Happy 2012 Love Bugs! And yes, I realize January is nearly over! Time escaped me as I wound down from the holidays! So… we’re going to get a jump start on the February Rally Mission! I was tossing an idea around about February being the “love month” and all and incorporating that into the February Love Rally. Then… Facebook friend @Ingrid Cheng left a comment on the FB wall saying: “Let’s send Valentine’s Day cards to people who make a difference in our lives & others’ lives. “
Great idea! You know… there is SO much you can do with a heart whether it’s your own, or cut out of a piece of paper! So this rally, we’re going to give our hearts! Your mission is to pass out love, compassion, and kindness through Valentine’s!
Everyone loves getting a Valentine! That simple little shape will bring a smile to a face and a smile to their heart! It’s such a SIMPLE act!!! Here are a couple ideas to get your imagination flowing:
Cut out 100 hearts (you can do this while watching t.v., it’ll go quickly!) and pass them out to people! Get creative… you don’t even have to know the people!!!!! How about people on the bus? People you pass on the street? Co-workers, the cashier at the grocery store, or what about at church or your exercise class. No… I’m not nuts I really mean it! BETTER YET… give them TWO Valentine’s and ask them to pass one along to someone else!
Cover your bathroom mirror with hearts and leave a marker in there to encourage everyone to write something positive on them!
College students can pass hearts out to all their hall residents!
Take your hearts up to your local elderly care facility, or children’s hospital!
Text a heart, tweet a heart, or Facebook a heart <3
The point is, we all have so much love inside… share your heart!
If you feel like sharing your experience, please do so in the comments or on Facebook.
Here… Have a heart from me! Enjoy the month of LOVE!
Hello everyone!
I cannot believe it is already December! This year flew by for me. I cannot even remember some of the things that caused me stress early on in 2011. What may have seemed really dire or important at that time is now something I cannot even recall. Funny how that works. For some though… for some there are things that seem insurmountable from January til December. The other day I came across a Facebook page for Battle 4 a Cure. They send Hope Boxes to children fighting cancer and raise money for Childhood Cancer Research.
While looking through the page I came across little faces. A never ending stream of them. All of them a story. All of them suffering. Some of them who had passed. That’s about when it hit me… nothing I am or have gone through is that bad. So this month I would like to ask each of you to read a story. A story of one of these children. Say a prayer, send out some positive energy, leave a comment, friend a page… share your hope with a family.
Battle 4 a Cure also has a webpage worth a look-see. This season many of us are celebrating a variety of holidays. Let’s light a candle in honor of these little ones and keep them and their families in our thoughts.
From LoveRally.org… Whichever holiday you celebrate, please make it a safe, happy, and healthy one.
